Dr. Kerimcan Ozcan is Associate Professor of Marketing with tenure at the School of Business and Global Innovation, Marywood University, USA. His scholarship spans co-creation, interactive platforms, digitalization, strategy, branding, customer service, industrial/B2B marketing, AI-enabled organizational transformation, and systems approaches to value creation.
His current work develops Dynamic Relationality Theory (DRT), Machinic Life-Experience Ecosystems (MLXEs), and co-intelligence as frameworks for understanding how humans, AI systems, organizations, institutions, and infrastructures become dynamically entangled. Across this research program, he examines how relational systems generate value, transform practices, and become more coherent, governable, contestable, and repairable under conditions of technological and social complexity.
Dr. Ozcan is the lead author of the Dynamic Relationality Theory trilogy: Dynamic Relationality Theory of Creative Transformation (Elsevier, 2024), Creative Transformation of Organizational Ecosystems (De Gruyter, 2025), and Machinic Life-Experience Ecosystems (Springer Nature, 2026). He is co-author, with Venkat Ramaswamy, of The Co-Creation Paradigm (Stanford University Press, 2014), and co-author, with Venkat Ramaswamy and Krishnan Narayanan, of Co-Creating the Future with AI (Palgrave Macmillan, 2026).
His scholarly articles and chapters have appeared in outlets such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, and Harvard Business Review, and edited research handbooks. His work has addressed interactional creation, digitalized interactive platforms, brand value co-creation, managerial experience, service systems, and B2B/industrial marketing.
Before joining Marywood University, Dr. Ozcan held academic appointments at the International University of Japan and taught at several other institutions, including the University of Michigan. He also worked in engineering roles in industry before entering academia. His research has received support from organizations including the Japanese Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the University of Michigan Tauber Manufacturing Institute.
Dr. Ozcan received a Ph.D. in Marketing and an M.A. in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University.

Dr. Venkat Ramaswamy is Hallman Fellow of Electronic Business and Professor of Marketing at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. His work spans innovation, strategy, marketing, branding, information technology, operations, organizational transformation, and the human side of enterprise change. He is internationally recognized for pioneering the theory and practice of co-creation and for helping organizations rethink how value is generated through lived experience, interaction, and engagement platforms.
In The Future of Competition (Harvard Business School Press, 2004), co-authored with C. K. Prahalad, Dr. Ramaswamy helped introduce co-creation as a new paradigm of value generation. His later work, including influential articles in Harvard Business Review and Sloan Management Review, developed the implications of co-creation for innovation, engagement, and experience-based strategy. In The Power of Co-Creation (Free Press, 2010), co-authored with Francis Gouillart, he extended the co-creation perspective into organizational platforms and enterprise transformation. In The Co-Creation Paradigm (Stanford University Press, 2014), co-authored with Kerimcan Ozcan, he advanced an interactional and institutional account of value creation in a collaborative economy and society.
Dr. Ramaswamy’s recent work extends co-creation into the age of AI, digitalized infrastructures, and co-intelligent ecosystems. With Krishnan Narayanan, he is co-author of The Co-Intelligence Revolution (Penguin Random House, 2025). With Kerimcan Ozcan and Krishnan Narayanan, he is co-author of Co-Creating the Future with AI (Palgrave Macmillan, 2026), which develops a practice-oriented architecture for co-intelligent value creation across enterprises, ecosystems, and society.
With Kerimcan Ozcan, Dr. Ramaswamy is also co-author of the Dynamic Relationality Theory trilogy: Dynamic Relationality Theory of Creative Transformation (Elsevier, 2024), Creative Transformation of Organizational Ecosystems (De Gruyter, 2025), and Machinic Life-Experience Ecosystems (Springer Nature, 2026). Across these works, he helps extend the co-creation tradition into a broader theory of dynamic relationality, organizational transformation, co-intelligence, and machinic life-experience ecosystems.
He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
